THE SIDEWALKS
Bio
The Sidewalks debuted on the Charlottetown gigging scene in June '08 and have been pushing steadily forward ever since. They've taken their
'90s upbringing and deep fried it in a mild East Coast batter infused with a plethora of musical styles including ska, alternative, pop-punk, indie,
classical, and a splash of old school metal.
It all began when Chris Gallant and Josh Pitre decided they wanted to make music people would dance to. Within mere weeks they brought in Jamie
O'Brien and Robyn Verhoeven and together they wrote a bunch of songs which got people out of their chairs and onto the dance floor. In an effort to
make each tune stronger and more harmonious, they enlisted their friend Steve Giddings to complete the package.
Within 6 months of gigging they were signed to Sandbar Music, a local record label on PEI, and in the Spring of 2009 they were invited to play the
Discovery Stage and the Music PEI stage at the 2009 ECMA's in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.
