Bio Tom Fun Orchestra (from Sydney, Nova Scotia) features an unconventional mix of electric and acoustic instruments, including violin, banjo, accordion, trumpet, double
bass, electric guitars and drums. The Tom Fun Orchestra combines elements of folk, roots, blues, rock and punk to create a sound that is at once familiar yet entirely
unique. The band was formed in 2005 by singer-songwriter Ian MacDougall. They recorded their first full-length album, You Will Land with a Thud, in 2008.
Tom Fun won the CBC Galaxy Rising Star Award at the 2009 East Coast Music Awards.
