The Top 100 Canadian Albums by Bob Mersereau
By Jillianne Hamilton
(08/30/09)
Published in 2007, The Top 100 Canadian Albums by Bob Mersereau is a collection of album descriptions, each one about a different Canadian album and why it deserves to be on the list. The book also includes top 10 lists from Canadian musicians like Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea and music personalities like Sophie Durocher of Espace musique.
Much of the book is dedicated to the classics: Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, The Band, The Tragically Hip and Rush. Although the various vintage vinyls spread across Canada are obviously of stellar quality, the book includes newer Canadian music gems like Let It Die (Feist), You Were Here (Sarah Harmer), You Forget It In People (Broken Social Scene) and Funeral (The Arcade Fire).
